The process to get Supplemental Security Income under Title 16 is the same as the process to get Social Security Disability under Title 2, but the requirements are different. Social Security Disability

- You have paid Social Security for five out of the last ten years
- You are younger, have not paid into Social Security for five of the last ten years, and meet additional requirements
If you are under 65 and have suffered an injury, you may be eligible for SSD. If you have a spouse and children, you may be entitled to additional money. You can get additional money for any minor child under the age of 16 living in your home and for any child up to the age of 18 that is enrolled in school.
