Social Security Applications

Arizona Social Security Attorney

The process to get Supplemental Security Income under Title 16 is the same as the process to get Social Security Disability under Title 2, but the requirements are different. Eligibility to receive SSI is based upon your disability status and your financial need. You must be over the age of 65 and have a low income to receive SSI. The Slepian Law Office will help you with the application process for either program.

What qualifies as a disability?

  • An impairment that prevents you from working.
  • Pain and fatigue that is so severe that an individual would not be a reliable employee or be able to possess sufficient attention or concentration to maintain a normal workweek.

Many injuries and disabilities can qualify. The following, if they prevent you from working, are a few examples:

  • Back pain
  • Diabetes
  • Arthritis
  • Dementia
  • Heart problems
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Seizures

You know whether or not you are able to work, but to receive benefits, you must prove to the government that you are unable to work. We can help you obtain medical records and statements from your doctors. We can help you determine if your claim should qualify.

Social Security Disability

Under Title 2, you are eligible to obtain SSD benefits if you meet the following requirements:

  • You have paid Social Security for five out of the last ten years
  • You are younger, have not paid into Social Security for five of the last ten years, and meet additional requirements

If you are under 65 and have suffered an injury, you may be eligible for SSD. If you have a spouse and children, you may be entitled to additional money. You can get additional money for any minor child under the age of 16 living in your home and for any child up to the age of 18 that is enrolled in school.

Applying for social security can be a complicated and confusing process. Contact an Arizona Social Security attorney to advise you.
